This is a modern British furniture classic: the "New Menton" armchair  designed by Robin Howland c1960. Produced by Parker Knoll (model PK940).  Original teak frame and tension-sprung seat, new velvet upholstery.  Produced by Parker Knoll during Hans Jourdan's era of modern designs.  

This chair features in Lesley Jackson's "Modern British Furniture: Design since 1945" as one of Parker Knoll's flagship post-war designs.  They are becoming increasingly hard to find.
