A very rare early Globe Company (later to become Globe Wernicke) letter filing cabinet, c1880s. This model was their signature award winning Globe File (1882-1183). Made of oak with 15 filing sections, original drawers to 5 of them with original brass clipboard to each, pull out tray. Missing the remaining drawers and roller shutter. Original makers labels. A really interesting piece of early Globe furniture in overall good condition: solid structure, ready to use.

Dimensions: H198cm, W30cm, D50cm. Drawers: H10cm, W26cm, D39cm.

The Globe Company was established in Cincinnati in 1882, manufacturing award-winning office furniture. They subsequently went on to acquire the Wernicke Company (established 1883), creating the well known Globe-Wernicke Company. The company is best known for their high end bookcases, desks, and other office furniture.
