E.A. Taylor was one of the leading Glasgow style designers, and a contemporary of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.  He was the head designer at Wylie and Lochhead, working alongside George Logan and John Ednie on many of the W&L designs during the height of that Glasgow period.  He was married to Jessie M. King, another leading light of the Glasgow School, and they went on to establish the Kirkcudbright style after the war.
